What are check-ups & exams?
Regular dental check-ups let our dentists spot and treat problems early — from decay to gum disease and oral-health concerns. Most adults are seen every 6–12 months.

A regular check-up is the simplest way to keep your teeth and gums in good shape, and it lets us catch small problems early — while they’re still straightforward to treat. At your examination, your dentist looks over your teeth, gums and the soft tissues of your mouth and may take X-rays where they’re needed. An NHS examination sits under Band 1 (£27.90), which also covers any X-rays and advice given at the same visit.
Most adults are seen every six to twelve months, and your dentist will suggest an interval that matches your own dental health. Children and families are welcome too, so the whole household can be seen in one place.
We’re currently taking on new NHS and private patients at our home in the Old Police Station on Portland Road, a short step from Hucknall town centre and the tram terminus. To arrange your first check-up, call 0115 963 4776.

On the NHS, this is a Band 1 treatment — £27.90.
Band 1 covers: Check-up, diagnosis, X-rays, scale & polish. Whatever treatment you receive within a single band, you pay just one charge per course of treatment.
