Questions and answers

Are you accepting new NHS patients in Hucknall?

Yes — we're currently registering new NHS and private patients from Hucknall and the surrounding areas. NHS places can come and go, so it's worth getting in touch sooner rather than later. Call 0115 963 4776 or use our contact form to register.

Whereabouts in Hucknall are you, and how do I find you?

We're at The Old Police Station, 2 Portland Rd, Hucknall NG15 7SN, a short walk from the Market Place and St Mary Magdalene Church. The town's tram and rail terminus is close by, with NET tram, Robin Hood line and local bus services all serving the centre.

How much does NHS dental treatment cost?

NHS charges in England (2026) fall into three bands. Band 1 (£27.90) covers an examination, advice and any X-rays; Band 2 (£76.60) covers fillings, extractions and root canal work; and Band 3 (£332.10) covers crowns, dentures and bridges. Some patients are exempt from charges.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your dentist will take a full dental and medical history, examine your teeth, gums and soft tissues, and take any X-rays that are needed. You'll get a clear explanation of anything they find and an agreed plan, including costs, before any treatment begins.

I'm nervous about seeing the dentist — can you help?

You're far from alone, and we look after plenty of anxious patients. Let us know when you get in touch and we'll allow extra time, talk you through each step and never rush you. Easing back into regular check-ups usually makes future visits feel much simpler.

Which areas do you look after?

We're a local practice for Hucknall, Butler's Hill, Broomhill and Bestwood, and we welcome patients from Linby, Papplewick and the wider north Nottingham area.

Do you offer private treatments such as teeth whitening or Invisalign?

Yes. Alongside NHS care we offer private options including professional teeth whitening, Invisalign clear aligners and dental implants. Call 0115 963 4776 to arrange a consultation and we'll talk through what would suit you.

How do I book, and what should I bring?

Call 0115 963 4776 during opening hours, Monday to Friday, or request an appointment through our contact form. Please bring a list of any medicines you take and your NHS number if you have one, and arrive a few minutes early to complete a short new-patient form.
